Understanding your client/audience and UX (user experience)

Week two

Having sent our creative brief off to the client and completing Milestone 1, we spent today learning research techniques, e.g. un-formal groups, Out-loud thinking, etc…These techniques are specifically focused on generating idea’s that aren’t as obvious, maybe not so much a solution but a story or experience that creates further discussion and opens new channels of discussion. We talked about first and second hand research. First being direct communication with an recipient/audience e.g. interviews, questionaries, while secondary is not direct e.g. like online research, reading.

As a group we decided to split the research.

We even took the opportunity to question Wendy on her experience with award ceremonies, which gave us some idea’s.

User Experience Design is the process of enhancing user satisfaction by improving the usability, accessibility, and pleasure provided in the interaction between the user and the product. Currently a specialist thing, UX will soon become a necessary skill of a graphic designer.
