8 down to 4

I need to half the number of briefs that i’ve been interested in before I do any more work. Once I’m down to four I need decided on the two most promising briefs by Thursday. Friday, in small groups, we’re talking about the two briefs that we have chosen and the three initial ideas we have for both of them.

Taking in Ian’s advice, i’ve decided not to take the a2 Milk any further. I also don’t think the Fedrigoni paper, John Lewis and Monotype brief’s aren’t for me. That leaves Fever-Tree, Orchard Pig, The Saucy Fish Co, Desperados, and then possibly the Adobe Creative Cloud and D&AD Bravery. Although I haven’t really looked at the last two. so lets do exactly that..

Creative Cloud – Remix the Adobe Creative cloud for future creators

Brief – Your challenge is to take the existing identity for Adobe Creative Cloud, and remix and reimagine it for a youth audience. Then, devise a launch campaign that’s inspiring enough to appeal to this group.

This is an opportunity to come up with a truly creative and holistic brand campaign, across every aspect of the marketing mix, for a product that enables you to do anything. The only limit is your imagination.

D&AD – Fortune favours the brave

Brief  We asked young creatives what kind of an industry they want to work in. Their answer? Brave. Now’s your chance to make it so.

Design an enterprise, service or product that will spark a surge in courage to benefit the creative industries. Think about what bravery means to the creative industries. Then consider how you’ll stir creatives to push boundaries, stand up for their ideas or, indeed, even fail… and then learn from that failure, and ultimately use it to establish a more courageous creative practice.

I think the D&AD Fortune favours the brave brief is going to be very challenging and what their asking for is maybe to much for me, especially if I want to use this project to experiment.

The creative cloud brief sounds interesting. It’s not only about creating a new identity aimed at a more youthful audience, but it’s also following through and making it real with a strategic campaign.

These are what I’m considering.
