being indecisive

Despite being certain about doing South America and using the Amazing rainforest as the key subject for connecting the bottles, I haven’t committed to the countries. I need to chose the 4 before I go any further, so lets break it down –

Flag colour – Green, Yellow and Blue

  • Largest and best know country in South America
  • One of the world’s wonders – Christ the Redeemer is in Rio
  • Brazil has been the world’s largest exporter of coffee for 150 years
  • Brazil has more than 4,000 airports
  • Is know for it’s world renowned Carnivals. Rio de Janeiro has long been regarded as the Carnival capital of the world.
  • There are at least 70 uncontacted tribes in the Brazilian Amazon
  • Football is the most popular sport in Brazil

Flag colours – Yellow, Purple and Red

  • Colombia has a vibrant music scene
  • Is the world’s leading source of emeralds and its coffee is world-renown
  • 99% of the population speak Spanish
  • Bogotá might lead the rest of Latin America in experimental theater, indie-rock, and just sheer volume of bookstores
  • Carnival of Barranquilla is the second largest festival after Rio de Janeiro

Flag colours – Yellow, Blue and Red

  • Ecuador has numerous volcanoes that make up its terrain
  • Ecuador is a safe haven for Iguanas
  • The Galapagos islands are 1,000 km offshore. The 13 volcanic islands form the world’s 2nd largest nature reserve
  • Ecuador has over one hundred different types of hummingbirds

Flag colours – Red and White

  • Peru contains the second largest segment of the Amazon rainforest after Brazil
  • Peru is a surfer’s paradise
  • The potato is originally from Peru, and there are over 3,000 different varieties
  • Machu Picchu
  • Cotahuasi Canyon near the city of Arequipa is actually the deepest canyon in the world

Flag colour – Red, Yellow and Green

  • Bolivia has the world’s largest butterfly sanctuary
  • The most dangerous road in the world is in Bolivia
  • 60% of its population being of pure Native American ancestry
  • Bolivia is one of the world’s largest producers of coca, the raw material for cocaine

Brazil is a definite, Ecuador because of the Galapagos islands, Iguanas and Humming birds. Then I’m a little stuck. Colombia having almost identical colours as Ecuador isn’t ideal, but I might have to use it. Peru has the second largest segment of the Amazon, Machu Picchu and surfing, while Bolivia has some interesting things, like the most dangerous road, Butterfly’s and their native american population. For me, Colombia’s culture and traits sounds too similar to Brazil’s, based on that I’m dropping it.

4 bottles based on South America – Brazil – Ecuador – Bolivia – Peru
