CANNES LIONS: Business Case for Creative BraveryPosted: February 18, 2016
First thing I find is this presentation by Cannes Lion:
Statement from they’re website:
We are campaigners for creativity: we inspire creative bravery that changes the course of communications. Over 62 years, we have gathered the industry and galvanised it.
Our goal is to provide everything needed to successfully campaign for creativity – the connections, the education, the benchmark and the inspiration.
In 2016, Cannes Lions is an eight-day programme of creative inspiration, celebration, education and networking, attracting over 15,000 delegates from around 100 countries.
It is the only truly global meeting place for branded communications professionals and our Awards set a global benchmark for what good creative looks like.
First I’ll go over this presentation
Like that sentence “Work that takes chances in pursuit of excellence and changes the status quo” Cannes is a french festival so, despite my lack of knowledge of this brief due to not being able to print it out(tonights mission), D&AD want a British equivalent or alternative themed platform(to much?)ha.
“Creatively awarded campaigns generate11x more market share growth than non-creatively awarded campaigns”Alexis Nasard, Chief Commercial Officer at Heineken
Guerrilla marketing is an advertisement strategy concept designed for businesses to promote their products or services in an unconventional way with little budget to spend. For example:
Brilliantly simple and effective campaign.D&AD: Tips For Creating Winning Work shares this:
So what I’ve learnt from D&AD is “Idea is king” and simplicity is key?
Obviously this presentation is about how design effects a companies growth? not entirely sure, and I’ll be honest about that, but I’ve found a few leads just from stumbling into this presentation on google.
Did a bit of research and I found this about Cannes Lions:
For the UK, the local representatives are The Guardian News & Media, could be something to consider.
Some really good material from this post.
